I am truly excited by this new strategy.Alison Johns, Former CEO, Advance HE
I've really seen the commitment Advance HE has in developing its thinking and making sure it's aligned with what the sector wants.Professor Mark E. Smith, Chair of the Board, Advance HE
We understand that the road to 2030 is one of transformation for our members. You have asked for our support to help you do things differently so that you are prepared to deliver excellence in all you do. We will focus on supporting this transformation by concentrating on three strategic priorities aligned to your needs.
At a time of significant challenge for the sector, institutions are increasingly needing to deliver transformational change in the way they operate. Advance HE is committed to supporting leadership teams and governing bodies to do this successfully.Janet Legrand, Senior Lay Member of Court, The University of Edinburgh
In partnership with members and stakeholders, we work to:
- Maximise membership impact and value
- Support leadership, management and governance development for transformational change
- Develop educational excellence for the higher education of the future
Underpinning the three strategic priorities are the following cross-cutting themes that are fundamental aspects of a thriving future:
- Sustain Progress in Equity, Diversity and Inclusion
- Embed Sustainability
- Build Capability for Technology-enabled Excellence and Efficiency
Advance HE has reached some important milestones; the new strategy not only reflects on its values and purpose, but sets out how it will sustain progress, maximise impact and support transformational change to enable HE to realise the full potential of its people.Parveen Yaqoob, Deputy Vice-Chancellor and Pro-Vice-Chancellor for Research and Innovation, the University of Reading
Five commitments will be used to guide our work to 2030, ensuring we deliver what matters most. We will continue to listen and adapt to the evolving needs of our members.
- We keep our members at the centre of Advance HE
- We seek partnerships and collaborations to create greater impact
- We convene and connect members to share global perspectives
- We ensure that contextualised and pragmatic approaches underpin our work
- We work from a credible evidence base
I have been massively impressed by the amount of deep consultation and discussion with member institutions that has gone into the development of Advance HE’s new strategy. The organisation is firmly set on providing a range of offerings that recognise the challenging environment in which members are operating in order to provide outstanding value to the sector.Paul Woodgates, Board Member, Advance HE and Expert in strategy, operations, change and leadership in universities
