Advance HE is seeking to recruit a Head of Athena SWAN with high-calibre expertise in management and stakeholder engagement, in a unique opportunity to lead the globally-recognised gender equality framework on a national and international stage.
This role will lead the Athena SWAN team and work closely alongside other Advance HE colleagues to deliver high-value charter services, and will involve delivering to and engaging with a range of senior university and research institute stakeholders primarily in the UK.
The Head of Athena SWAN will provide internal and external leadership for the planned transformation of the charter and be responsible for oversight of the quality and delivery of Athena SWAN services. Based in our London office, the Programmes and Events (P&E) Coordinator will provide excellent service in regard to Advance HE programmes and events through excellent product knowledge, effective implementation and monitoring of relevant systems, procedures and policies and management of stakeholder relationships. We are seeking someone with experience of both project management (in HE or government) and working internationally (either from the UK or being based overseas).
The role will primarily be focused on remotely supporting four consultants to deliver a large-scale HE leadership development programme in India as well as liaising and co-ordinating with our programme delivery partners in India who are managing logistics for the participants. For that reason, we really need someone who can commit at least some of their working week to be available in the mornings to facilitate communication across the time-zones.
Knowledge of the working environment in India would be desirable but is not essential. The ability to deal with ambiguity and to adjust to shifting schedules and different working cultures will be necessary. There may also be opportunities to engage with other Advance HE consultancy projects being delivered internationally. Applications close 27 January 2020.
