When are the fees for Fellowship applications increasing?
The Fellowship application fees for direct applications to Advance HE will be increasing on 1 April 2021.
Why are the application fees increasing?
This is the first fee increase in over seven years and reflects the increased costs we have absorbed over this period in reviewing direct Fellowship applications.
I am applying for Fellowship through my institution’s accredited scheme/ undertaking an accredited programme at my institution; will the fee increase affect me?
No, Advance HE accreditation includes fee-free recognition for those employed by the member institution, so staff and students achieving Fellowship through their institution’s accredited provision are not charged a fee.

I am undertaking a programme accredited by Advance HE with an institution which is not my employer; how will the Fellowship fee increase affect me?
If you work for an institution that is an Advance HE member institution, including Affiliate or Access members, you will not be affected as your institution’s membership covers the fee that you would be charged for Fellowship.
If you work for an organisation that is not an Advance HE member the additional fee charged for Fellowship when you complete your programme will increase, as this is set at 50% of the direct application fee (please refer to Advance HE accreditation policy).
I lead an accredited programme/scheme that has participants including staff from collaborative partner institutions and/or clinical educators; how will the Fellowship fee increase affect me?
If external participants work for an Advance HE member institution, including Affiliate or Access members, they will not be affected as their institution’s membership covers the Advance HE fee for Fellowship gained through your accredited provision.
If external participants are not employed by an Advance HE member institution, the additional fee due to Advance HE for Fellowship when they complete the programme/scheme after 31 March 2021 will increase as this is set at 50% of the direct application fee (please refer to Advance HE accreditation policy).
We ask member institutions to ensure that any external participants on accredited programmes/schemes that will be affected are made aware of the fee change.
My institution has pre-paid for a number of Fellowship applications with Advance HE, in a contract signed before the 1 April 2021; will the fee increase affect this?
All existing Fellowship contracts incorporating pre-paid application fees within the contract will be honoured at the fee agreed prior to 1 April 2021 for the full duration of the contract.
My institution wishes to buy Fellowship applications in bulk; how will the Fellowship fee increase affect this?
If the agreement is in place before 1 April 2021 the fees will reflect the pricing before this date, if the agreement is not in place before 1 April 2021 then it will be subject to the fee increase. Please contact your Advance HE Head of Membership or firstname.lastname@example.org to discuss your plans.
