Made in Brunel (MiB) is a collaborative educational initiative, led by students and co-produced by students and staff. MiB aims to interpret the societal tensions that the Design School often captures whilst curating and contextualising the collaborative work that the School produces every year.
MiB starts with the selection of the two student Directors in October. This selection is done collaboratively by Brunel Design School staff. The two directors recruit a team of student managers, from Undergraduate final year and Masters’ programmes from across the School, who look after several aspects of the programme such as marketing and events.
The team is supported by staff throughout the programme. Although MiB has an underlying consistent structure, each year the programme is adapted and led by the MiB team. MiB started in 2006 as an extra-curricular programme to celebrate excellence and promote the work of Brunel Design School students to the broader creative community outside of the University. It consists of a programme of activities, events, competitions, and exhibitions that culminates in June with the final showcase of work in Central London.
