Accrediting professional development programmes and providing professional recognition

Helping you achieve your goals and provide confidence.

Advance HE supports institutions globally to have their in-house teaching staff development programmes accredited aligned to the Professional Standards Framework for Teaching and Supporting Learning in HE requirements and allow the automatic award of Fellowship to successful participants. We provide support to institutions to guide them through the accreditation process. We also provide online standardisation exercises, to support those assessing and mentoring Fellows as well as conducting external moderation.

Supporting individuals with Fellowship applications

If your institution is not in a position to go through the accreditation process, Advance HE can support your staff to understand the Fellowship process and draft their applications.

Fellowship workshops

These workshops prepare a group of staff to make applications for Fellowship at a specific category. The workshops can be run online and provide a dedicated space to focus on the requirements of Fellowship, review example applications relevant to participants’ contexts and to plan applications.

In-house Fellowship writing retreats

With expert support on hand, our in-house Fellowship Writing Retreats provide a structured and guided environment in which to construct an application plan for Fellowship. The writing retreats are delivered aligned to a specific category and are open to a maximum of 10 participants per cohort.

Draft application reviews

A review of a draft Fellowship application can be provided to each applicant. By an agreed date or set of dates, each applicant will send their draft application to an experienced Advance HE consultant for review. The consultant will review the application and provide annotated feedback, including points for further development, by email directly to the applicant.

Are you an individual looking for support with applying?

We have a number of services available to support you if you are thinking of applying for one of our categories of Fellowship, from our category tool to help you find out which category is most closely aligned to your practice, to online courses and writing retreats designed to help you create an application that fully reflects your practice.

I think the most important thing that I’ve got out of being a Senior Fellow is the external recognition you receive from your peers. It gives you a profile. What’s interesting is that people ask me for advice in terms of teaching and learning. People know you are interested in pedagogy and will help support them.”
