Building Fellowship communities

Creating cohorts of staff who have the agency to lead on teaching and learning strategies and practice.

Advance HE fellowship demonstrates a commitment to professionalism and provides recognition of practice, impact and leadership in teaching and learning. By investing in the Professional Standards Framework (PSF) and Fellowship institutions have reported:

  • improved world rankings metrics (e.g. QS Academic Development Rating)
  • an improved profile of teaching and learning across the institution
  • encouragement of collaboration across faculties and between institutions
  • increasing scholarship and research in teaching and learning
  • improved student retention
  • improved student experience data
  • improved student engagement scores.

Advance HE can support your institution to embed the PSF and Fellowships and develop communities that have the agency to lead on institution-wide teaching and learning strategies and practice.

Supporting to embed Fellowship at your institution

If your institution is not in a position to go through the accreditation process, Advance HE can support your staff to understand the Fellowship process and draft their applications.

Certificate of Learning and Teaching in HE

The Certificate in Learning and Teaching in Higher Education is Advance HE’s flagship teacher development programme. Aligned to the PSF, it provides the framework for future cohorts to be delivered by internal staff, supporting the institution on the path to Advance HE Teaching and Learning Accreditation.

Draft application reviews

A review of a draft Fellowship application can be provided to each applicant. By an agreed date or set of dates, each applicant will send their draft application to an experienced Advance HE consultant for review. The consultant will review the application and provide annotated feedback, including points for further development, by email directly to the applicant.
