Athena Swan: Intention to Submit

Please note you must be a member of Advance HE, have subscribed to the Athena Swan bundle and have committed to the Athena Swan principles in order to apply. If you have not already sent us the signed Transformed Charter Principles please do so prior to your submission.  

This Intention to Submit form is for UK Athena Swan applications only (the intention to submit form for the Republic of Ireland can be found here). 

Application Resources: Make sure you are using the most up to date application resources by checking the Athena Swan Connect group. If you aren’t already a member of Connect join here; 

1. Create a Connect account or log in: Log in to your account | Advance HE (advance-he.ac.uk) 
2. Once you are registered and logged in, search for the Athena Swan Members' Network (UK) then “request to join” - we will authorise your request once it comes through.  

Booking in your application: You must complete the intention to submit form below at least two months prior to the submission deadline in order for your application to be booked onto the submission round. Please see details of when the Intention to Submit for each submission round will close in the table below.  

How to Submit your application: Your Athena Swan application should be submitted via Survey Monkey Apply by 5pm on the deadline date. When you come to submit your final application follow these steps: 

1. Use this link to register as an applicant for SMA: https://advancehe.smapply.org/   
2. Once you are logged in select “Programmes”
3. Select the “Athena Swan (UK)” programme
4. Follow the steps and instructions provided to submit your application
