21st century skills

An extensive set of literacies competencies and character qualities that are believed to be critically important to success in the modern world.

There is debate around which specific skills should constitute '21st-century skills' and how these might be taught in higher education. However it is generally agreed that 21st-century skills can be organised into the following categories: literacies (literacy numeracy citizenship digital and media); competencies (critical thinking creativity collaboration); and character qualities (curiosity initiative persistence resilience adaptability leadership).
