Advance HE Teaching & Learning Conference 2018: Learning the local – Understanding the global

This workshop aims to share three strategies implemented in Newcastle College as an HE in FE provider to respond to vocational and academic needs in the current internationalised classroom. Through the exploration of case studies participants will be able to discuss curriculum design to respond to local needs e.g. through employer engagement and the use of placements (our MBA); developing a Work Ready Guarantee programme to commit resources to tailor the support for learners to be industry ready by the end of the Degree (level 4 HE students); and adopting technology to develop inclusive and accessible online learning programmes (online learning: NCG Direct).
