Universities and colleges provide a variety of services for staff and students including catering, careers advice, libraries and student accommodation.
These services may unknowingly present barriers that prevent people with impairments from fully using or benefiting from the service. These disabling barriers can be down to physical design, the way the service is delivered, or social attitudes towards disabled people.
This pack has been developed for people with responsibility for equality and diversity training to adapt to their university or college’s context. The materials will help staff providing services to anticipate and remove disabling barriers and provide an inclusive service for all staff and students.
The training pack includes:
- Trainer’s handbook
- Presentation slides
- Handouts
- Activity materials
The pack includes cartoons from Dave Lupton, Crippen Cartoons.
