Bioscience Horizons: The evolution of an International Student Journal

A presentation from the STEM Annual Conference 2014.

This Pecha Kucha provides an overview of the successful development of an International Journal which publishes high quality student research from across the world. The session outlines the underlying principles of the journal and how the remit and coverage of the journal has evolved to the current position where there are several 1000 pdf downloads of full –articles every month. The session will reflect on both the successes of the Journal for instance in relation to the close working relationship with Oxford University Press and the challenges that have been faced by both the management and editorial boards. The session will conclude with a good practice overview for those in the audience considering the development of a similar journal in other disciplines.
