Building the team: Educator-strategies for creating student networks and cohesion in a modular blended learning journey - HEA Annual Conference 2017 - Generation TEF: Teaching in the spotlight

The aim in this session is to highlight lessons learned from the first year of a blended learning Masters programme in Genomic Medicine. A key challenge faced in the delivery of this flexible programme is to provide a supportive learning environment for students attending each module within a mixed cohort. To address this challenge we have introduced team based learning within the on campus teaching weeks to promote class cohesion within modules. To assess the impact of this strategy we have analysed student feedback and learner analytics within the virtual learning environment.
