This is the first of nine projects from the 2023-24 round of Advance HE Collaborative Development Fund. It comprises a discovery report, which details research into how HE institutions can design and develop inclusive cultures in an increasingly international, online and distance education (IODE) landscape. This is complicated by the different legislative, cultural and social contexts that IODE occurs in. The report recognises how marginalised groups are represented differently across cultures, that national structures can influence IODE students’ experiences and that the political landscape of inclusion can change across borders.
Along with the report is a guide to help universities take practical steps to help ensure student inclusion across borders and between different learning modes, to help develop a truly inclusive culture for students worldwide.
The report and guide were produced by the University of London, in collaboration with King's College London and the University of the Arts London.
