e-Gothicist: students as partners in the learning process

A presentation from the HEA Annual Conference 2013.

This paper introduces e-Gothicist – a web-based educational resource for Gothic scholars funded by the HEA Teaching Development Grant scheme. Outlining it pedagogical rationale it summarises how it utilises technology to promote flexibility in the delivery of learning in order to enhance the quality of student performance. Drawing upon initial data from the pilot study it demonstrates how the role of students as partners – including peer feedback and student mentoring – has been central to the process of quality enhancement.
