Effective intercultural group work: what makes it work?

This presentation was delivered at the The World in Your Classroom – A Day for Teachers of International Students event which took place in Edinburgh on 11th June 2010.

This presentation was delivered by Catherine Montgomery of Northumbria University. The presentation details a research project that indicates group work in particular environments is troublesome but transformative. Going on from that the presentation explores what kinds of learning environments support positive intercultural group work. Finally the presentation offers a number of personal accounts from UK and international students at an undergraduate and postgraduate level.
