Embedding equality and diversity in assessment and feedback policy and practice

As part of the HEA Scotland embedding equality and diversity in the curriculum (EEDC) strategic enhancement project University of the Highlands and Islands built a strategic foundation for the embedding of EEDC in assessment and feedback policy and practice. Using the SEP as a platform from which to consolidate existing work and develop further activities the project focused on increasing project understanding of EEDC (gathering case studies and conducting a literature review); developing staff capacity through professional development activities; disseminating good practice; developing a potential scholarship project; and embedding EEDC – and research findings – in emerging strategy and policy. Having created this foundation UHI are looking to continue to develop their EEDC activities to continue to embed in strategies and policies as well as to pilot EEDC initiatives in key pathfinder programmes to inform future institution-wide development.

Further information about UHI’s work can be found in the below video (the slides for which are also downloadable on the right) and their accompanying case study.

For further information about the EEDC strategic enhancement programme with links to the case studies from the other institutional participants visit the project webpage.
