Equality in higher education: statistical report 2013

The Equality in higher education: statistical report 2013 presents an analysis of the gender, ethnicity, disability and age profiles of the higher education workforce (Part 1: staff) and full and part-time students (Part 2: students) during the 2011/12 academic year.

Using data from the Higher Education Statistics Agency (HESA) as well as staff and student records, the statistical report 2013 shows the progress of equality, in the areas mentioned above, over time.

Year-on year comparison

The statistical report 2013 provides selected comparisons between 2010/11 and 2011/12 data to facilitate identification of year-on-year changes. To see complete data from 2010/11, please see ECU’s previous statistical report on staff in higher education.

New areas in the statistical report 2013

The Equality in higher education: statistical report 2013 now includes some new areas of focus. Where previously destination data was provided for staff academic leavers as a group, this report separates this data for UK and non-UK staff academic leavers.
