Co-produced by Advance HE and Health Sciences University (HSU), this report captures insights from key stakeholders across both legacy institutions that are now part of Health Sciences University; namely, the University College of Osteopathy, London (UCO) and AECC University College, Bournemouth (AECC).
The report is the third in our series of merger insights reports and focuses on the period from making the decision to merge up to day one of legal merger. It is intended to sit alongside other Advance HE resources and contribute to a growing body of knowledge on leading large-scale transformation and mergers.
Advance HE extends its sincere thanks to all Health Sciences University staff (from both legacy institutions) who participated in interviews. Thanks and acknowledgement also go to colleagues at Health Sciences University, without whom it would not have been possible to offer this insights report. These include Professor Lesley Haig, Vice-Chancellor, Sharon Potter, Deputy Vice-Chancellor, and Terry Noys, Chief Operating Officer, who served as members of a project steering group and gave their feedback, suggestions and improvements to the early and final versions. Their thoughtful contributions, collaborative spirit and commitment to shaping a narrative that is open, reflective and valuable to the sector has proven invaluable.
The report was written by Dr David Ashton, Advance HE Associate, with support from Kim Ansell, Senior Consultant Governance and Transformation.
