Internationalisation and equality and diversity in HE: merging identities

Building on ECU’s 2009 scoping report, this research explores effective ways to link equality and diversity and internationalisation policies, structures and activities.

This report provides an in-depth account of awareness, commitment, understanding and involvement of domestic and international staff and students, and other key players in internationalisation and equality and diversity. It includes examples of good practice and synergy, as well as considering areas of potential improvement in the two fields.

The report has been written and researched on behalf of Equality Challenge Unit by Viv Caruana and Josef Ploner, Leeds Metropolitan University.

ECU will draw on these findings to produce practical guidance and briefings in 2011.
