"Making it count": Reflecting on the National Student Survey (NSS) in the process of enhancement

This report provides suggestions on the role of the NSS as an enhancement tool for learning and teaching. The report aims to:

• encourage and enable institutions to reflect on their own use of the NSS
• supply an overview of institutional practice covering the broad range of issues that arise when using the NSS as part of the enhancement process
• provide a range of specific examples of NSS use
• describe the challenges and difficulties of trying to use the NSS as an enhancement tool
• promote critical reflection and discussion on the role and potential of the NSS
