NET 2018 Conference: An eclectic perspective for growth and development for pre-registration nursing placement capacity

Innovation paper

The aim of this paper is to stimulate Higher Education Institutes and their stakeholders to create a new focused vision and direction regarding the growth and development of placement capacity within the independent sector primarily general practice. The availability and length of primary care placements need to increase in order for students to maximise their opportunities in meeting their requirements of the course. One of the many challenges in nursing today is the shortage of nurses; in particular general practice nurses. This paper will present a model that has been used to increase the recent activity undertaken regarding the increase to placement provision.
