NET 2018 Conference: Interdisciplinary education with Law and Nursing students: Unforeseen benefits for all?

Innovation paper

This paper examines the potential insights into the development of a shared professional curriculum between disciplines of Law and Nursing. We have intentionally designed the new Nursing curriculum at the University of Portsmouth to build bonds of trust between these future professionals with research suggesting that there are shared skills between professional disciplines (Murdoch Epp & Vinek 2017). We anticipate that the interdisciplinary environment will provide fertile ground for skill development in problem solving relationship-building communication and collaboration skills.
