Overview

The Onwards and Upwards study, conducted by Sarah Barnard, John Arnold, Sara Bosley and Fehmidah Munir at Loughborough University, gathers and considers the views and progression of participants on Advance HE’s Aurora leadership programme. Using longitudinal mixed-methods research, it looks at career trajectories, aspirations and work experiences of women working in academic and professional services roles in the higher education sector in the UK and Republic of Ireland.

The third year of the Onwards and Upwards study surveyed a further 658 women who were just starting the Aurora programme, and focused on the perceptions of Aurora using longitudinal as well as cross-sectional analysis, the results of which are summarised in this report.
