The project aim was to develop implement and test a tool to provide learners with formative feedback on performance that was timely personalised and meaningful.
Initially this benefited learners in the School of Computer Science undertaking 2nd and 3rd year BSc multimedia modules in Computer Science (approximately 250 students). We were able to show that the feedback object was valuable to staff and students by using it in a summative context on four tests with over 250 students. The understanding gained in this project was also relevant to those providing feedback using Computer Aided Assessment in general. The work described here was presented at two international conferences.
