Preparing for a Portfolio Career in Performing Arts

This report is based on research amongst successful performing and creative arts practitioners to uncover their stories and learn what helped or hindered them in their portfolio career trajectories since graduating. The 23 participants represent graduates from performing and allied humanities and arts courses in the UK with a majority having studied at London universities and conservatoires. Where participants named which Higher Education Institution (HEI) they attended this has been included. Whilst a number of respondents graduated with a performing arts degree 5 did not specify their major study; 12 studied drama; 2 majored in music; 1 dance; 1 stage management / technical theatre; 1 costume; and 1 graphic design.
