This session will provide delegates with an overview of how Problem Based Learning (PBL) approaches have been used to embed employability in the chemistry degree programme at Leicester. Examples of problems developed in cooperation with student partners and industrial stakeholders will be shared to illustrate how learning experiences have been developed which are authentically aligned with typical activities for professional chemists. Results of recent research on student perceptions of discipline-specific and transferable skills development will also be disseminated in this session. The results of this research will be used as the basis of further developments.
