Promise and practice: how should first-year students' expectations regarding assessment be met?

Research evidence indicates that institutional provision can fall short of student expectations regarding formative assessment.

The challenge for institutions is to find ways to bring expectations and experience into closer alignment and is particularly demanding in the current UK funding context. This discussion session will address the challenge.
