Reward and recognition in higher education: institutional policies and their implementation: a summary

This is an EvidenceNet summary of the 2009 report 'Reward and recognition in higher education: institutional policies and their implementation' by the Higher Education Academy and the GENIE CETL.

This report follows the February 2009 interim report on academics' perceptions of the way teaching is rewarded and recognised in the policies and practices of higher education institutions (HEIs). It included an overview of literature on the practices of reward and recognition of teaching in UK and international contexts. This second report details a survey of institutional policy and practice led by the GENIE CETL revisiting some of the background in the context of the wider literature.
