Royal Conservatoire of Scotland: Embedding equality and diversity into our undergraduate curriculum

As part of the HEA Scotland embedding equality and diversity in the curriculum (EEDC) strategic enhancement project Royal Conservatoire of Scotland undertook wholesale curriculum review to benchmark develop and support EEDC across their repertoire. By embedding the exercise within a suite of professional updating activities the project team aimed to make the review as robust as possible whilst also developing the capacity of conservatoire staff. Further targeted professional updating development of relevant institutional frameworks and documentation and the piloting of initiatives within select programmes followed the review exercise. A set of actions has been identified for the scaling up of project work post-SEP intending to result in the sustainable embedding of equality and diversity in learning and teaching across the institution.

Further information about RCS’ work can be found in their accompanying case study.
