Scottish HEI equality outcomes: a sector overview

On 30 April 2013, all public authorities in Scotland were required to have published a set of equality outcomes to meet the Scottish specific duties of the Equality Act 2010 public sector equality duty.

This briefing provides an analysis of the equality outcomes published by higher education institutions (HEIs) in Scotland.

It outlines:

• approaches taken by HEIs to developing and publishing their outcomes
• the areas of focus and themes of the outcomes

It is intended to support senior managers and governing bodies to gain an understanding of the equality outcomes published by the sector.
