This report has been commissioned by Skills for Health as part of a project to investigate new ways of delivering work based learning with particular reference to how these opportunities can be more effectively captured and valued. It identifies models of work-based learning and the associated support methods and teaching strategies. It then identifies characteristics of successful work-based learning and examples of assessment techniques and methods of accreditation. It finds evidence of higher education quality and enhancement processes in the research and includes the identification of resource which could be developed to enhance work based learning in the health sector.
