Member Benefit Global Themes 2025-26

Our 2025-26 membership offer has been shaped by invaluable feedback from sector leaders, addressing the sector's most pressing challenges, including financial sustainability, educational transformation, and leadership development. In response, we've evolved our approach to deliver practical, accessible solutions that support institutions in meeting regulatory requirements whilst maintaining excellence.

This year's membership introduces targeted initiatives under three key global themes:

  • Governing and leading transformation in a complex landscape
  • Support and recognition for inclusion

Education for the future - rethink, redesign, recreate 

Our 2025-26 Educational Excellence member benefits have been developed in direct response to three major challenges our member institutions are facing; finding financially efficient curriculum models and pedagogies fit for their context, responding to the changing needs of both students and regulators, and redesigning now to meet the needs of students in the future.

Educational Transformation Change Academy

This year's Change Academy focuses on Educational Transformation, supporting institutional changes in teaching and learning, and local measures and systems regulating quality such as TEF. This free members-only programme offers expert guidance on innovative pedagogy and student support through peer learning.​

Our 2025-2026 leadership, governance and management member benefits support your leaders, governors and institutions to navigate change effectively – specifically while operating in an environment of increased volatility characterised by financial pressures, changing government priorities and evolving regulatory landscapes.

Framework for Leading in Higher Education (FLHE)​

Our newly-launched framework provides a shared understanding of the attributes essential for effective leadership in higher education. Advance HE’s Framework for Leading in Higher Education (FLHE) supports this by offering a structured, values-based approach that helps leaders reflect on their practice, align with institutional goals and lead ethically and inclusively. Member-only masterclasses will provide clear guidance on how the FLHE could be applied both individually and organisationally to drive leadership excellence.

Support and recognition for inclusion

Inclusive Institutions Framework

In 2025 we will launch the Inclusive Institutions Framework (IIF), designed to fast-track more strategic and intersectional approaches to inclusion. The framework responds to strong sector-wide appetite for efficient, scalable and sustainable ways to deliver meaningful progress.

In September a Pathfinder Group designed for institutions that want to begin engaging with the Inclusive Institutions Framework and start using the framework from January 2026 will being work.

Leadership for inclusion

Grounded in collaboration, innovation and insight, we will lead three global executive roundtables, equipping members to enhance strategic decision-making and drive sustainable progress in equity, diversity and inclusion, focusing on:​

- embedding inclusion in leadership and institutional transformation​

- inclusive teaching on contested topics with diverse audiences​

- exploring innovation and practice in free speech, academic freedom, belonging and protection from harassment.​

The Disabled Student Commitment champions inclusivity in higher education. It seeks to eliminate barriers, promote understanding and support disabled students, ensuring they can fully engage in academic life and have equal opportunities across university environments.
