Introducing My Advance HE – our new customer portal

My Advance HE has replaced our legacy portals My LF and My Academy.

What’s happening?

At Advance HE we are continually developing our digital capability to help support our members. On 3 September we launched My Advance HE -  our new customer portal. My Advance HE has replaced the portals from our legacy agencies (My LF and My Academy).

What does this mean for me?

My Advance HE offers the same functionality as the old portals with just one place to login. You can manage your profile, make Fellowship applications and book programmes and events for yourself and on behalf of others.

If you are a previous My LF or My Academy portal user, we have automatically migrated your account to My Advance HE and you will be able to sign up easily with the email address associated with with your account.

If you encounter any problems when signing in or using My Advance HE you can email us at MySupport@advance-he.ac.uk or if you are signed in to My Advance HE you can submit the Customer Support form by clicking on the “Need Help?” button which is available from every screen or by clicking on Support in the top navigation bar. 

How can I access My Advance HE?

Existing My LF or My Academy users

If you have previously used the My LF or My Academy portals we have automatically created a new My Advance HE account for you based on the email address currently associated with your My LF or My Academy portal account.

Your existing account information (excluding any draft Fellowship applications) has been securely migrated including recognition of any existing Fellowship, information about development programmes you have undertaken or future events you have already booked.

Use the "Sign up now" function on My Advance HE with your existing My LF or My Academy account to verify your email address and create a new password for login. See our guidance screens for more information on the Sign up process.

You can then check or update your details within My Profile, including your communication preferences and indicating which themes and disciplines interest you most in your role in HE.

When you first login, you will be asked for some information to complete your profile including your job role and the name of the institution to you currently work for, this is so we can ensure you benefit from the services assigned to your institutions membership package.

New users

If you are not a previous user of either My LF or My Academy you can use the “Sign up now” function on My Advance HE. Simply enter and verify your email address and create a new password to login.

When you first login, you will be asked for some information to complete your profile including your job role and the name of the institution to you currently work for, this is so we can ensure you benefit from the services assigned to your institutions membership package.

You can also complete the details on your My Profile page, including your communication preferences and indicating which themes and disciplines interest you most in your role in HE.

What if I work for more than one institution?

If you work for more than one institution within your My Profile page you can add multiple employer relationships and then choose which one to use when you next sign in.

What if I encounter any issues when using with My Advance HE, who can I contact?

If you encounter any problems when signing in or using My Advance HE you can email us at MySupport@advance-he.ac.uk or if you are signed in you can submit the Customer Support form by clicking on the “Need Help?” button which is available from every screen or by clicking on Support in the top navigation bar. 

Important information for colleagues who currently have draft Fellowship applications saved in the My Academy portal

If you had a draft Fellowship application saved in My Academy, please be aware that draft applications have not automatically been migrated to the new My Advance HE portal. If you have a copy of the information that forms your draft application saved locally you can upload it to the My Advance HE portal.

Changes to the Fellowship application process

As an organisation we strive to continuously enhance our service and your application experience and as such we have made a number of changes our new online Fellowship application forms on the new My Advance HE portal.

However, we are aware that any current applications will have been written based on current guidance, and therefore we will not expect you to amend your application nor complete the new context statement field that will form part of the revised Fellowship application process on My Advance HE (Simply add “N/A” for that field).

Submissions made after 1st January 2021 however must follow the new guidance and application format.

Important information for existing Institutional Admin users of the My Academy portal

My Advance HE offers the same functionality as the existing portals with just one place to login.

However, we are implementing the portal in two phases and access to your institutional data and reporting will not be available on the new portal until we launch a future phase during the autumn. Information on engagement reporting will still be available on request from our Membership team by emailing us at MySupport@advance-he.ac.uk

Athena Swan and Race Equality Charter services will remain accessible via the ECU website. We also plan to migrate these services to the new My Advance HE portal during the autumn of this year.

Individuals will still be able to manage their profile, make direct Fellowship applications and book programmes and events for themselves and on behalf of others. This phase will also include accredited Fellowship provision for those member institutions who have this as part of their membership package.

Important information for existing Accredited Programme Leaders and Administrators who use the My Academy portal

As My Academy is no longer accessible, Accredited Programme Leaders and Administrators will not be able to add course completers through this portal.

The process for adding a completer will remain the same on My Advance HE.

An account will automatically be created for you on My Advance HE based on the email address you previously used to access My Academy and your details and course permissions will be transferred over automatically.
