Following the publication of the 2019 Advance HE/HEPI Student Academic Experience Survey which highlights students’ perception of value for money, Debbie McVitty, Wonkhe editor and keynote speaker at the Advance HE Teaching and Learning Conference 2019, has published an article, Higher Education needs an answer to the value question which extends the debate, looking at the dimensions of teaching excellence and discusses the developmental value of higher education.

Debbie points out that the Student Academic Experience Survey demonstrates the close alignment between perceptions of high-quality teaching and perceptions of value.

Advance HE’s annual Teaching and Learning Conference runs from 2 - 4 July 2019 at Northumbria University with over 400 sessions. This sector-led conference provides attendees with the chance to share ideas, research, good practice and innovations, to find out whether the challenges and solutions from other disciplines could inspire innovation in individual and institutional practice, and plenty of opportunities to discuss issues raised by the 2019 SAES and Debbie’s blog.
