Grants available to encourage networks on Advance HE Connect

03 Jun 2019 | Advance HE Grants worth up to £2,500 are available from Advance HE to support the creation of community-led groups on Advance HE Connect.

Grants worth up to £2,500 are available from Advance HE to support the creation of community-led groups on Advance HE Connect, the new digital platform for everyone who works in higher education.

Funding through the Networks On-Boarding Grant is allocated to individuals, groups or organisations willing to create a community or group space on Advance HE Connect and take a coordinating role in supporting and growing the network.

Successful applications for the on-boarding grants should demonstrate how they will use Advance HE Connect to develop subject and thematic community connections, share resources and encourage cross-sector collaboration. Those bidding for the funding will be expected to populate the network with topics for discussion, create resources, produce collaborative projects or events, interact with members and monitor the forums and live feed until the end of the 2019-2020 academic year.

Michael Parker, Head of Membership North East at Advance HE, said:

“The response from the sector to Advance HE Connect has been fantastic, with over 7,500 users signing up in the first two weeks since launch. We are extremely excited by the potential of this platform to support sharing, connections and collaborations across practitioners in higher education.

“As part of our commitment to supporting this community, we are very pleased to provide small grants to those who share our vision and to support the enhancement of practice.”

The call for applications opens today (3 June) and closed on 14 July 2019. The grants will be allocated first-come, first-served and made by Advance HE on a rolling basis to address the short time frame of the call and limited funding available.
