Following the latest round of Athena SWAN award submissions, Advance HE is pleased to announce a further three institutions have gained a silver award, with five new institutional recipients for bronze award status.
The success rate of applications meeting the charter’s criteria has also risen from 64% to 72.9%. Overall, 148 awards were conferred.
Aston University, University of Exeter and the University of Leicester are now silver institutional award holders. Silver institution awards recognise a significant record of activity and achievement by the institution in promoting gender equality and in addressing challenges across different disciplines.
The five new bronze award institutions are: Dublin Institute of Technology, Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland, Teesside University, University of Roehampton and the Institute of Zoology (part of the Zoological Society of London). Bronze institution awards recognise that the institution has a solid foundation for eliminating gender bias and developing an inclusive culture that values all staff.
