Aurora case study: Dr Mary Richards

03 Sep 2018 | Brunel University of London

Aurora provided a great opportunity to increase my awareness of the larger community of women leading institutions and organisations both within and beyond the higher education sectors. The inspirational women invited to tell their stories as part of the programme provided insights into the wide range of roles and challenges they have successfully navigated. The regular sessions provided broad stroke introductions to particular styles and approaches to leadership. Most useful to me were the very practical action learning sets, an approach that has much in common with the style of mediation practice with which I am familiar from my mediator experience at Brunel. Both experiences have been useful when it comes to supporting and developing others.
