New podcast: Flexible by Design

16 Mar 2022 | Dr Kay Hack (PFHEA) A new podcast episode exploring flexible models of learning.

Many higher education providers, educators and students are recognising the benefits of online learning providing choice in place, pace and mode of learning. This podcast explores a topic that institutions, academics, students and governments have all been deliberating for the past two years - how can we provide high quality, accessible and engaging learning experiences whilst leveraging the benefits of online learning?

Kay Hack, senior advisor at Advance HE, is joined by Emma Seagreaves, Director of Design and Assessments, University of Law,  Steve Pettifer, Professor of Computer Science, University of Manchester and Sarah Knight, head of teaching and learning and transformation at JISC, to explore what we actually mean by flexible learning, the student vision and experiences of flexible learning, and working in partnership with students to develop both the vision of online learning and how that happens in practice.

With the pandemic having accelerated the need for everyone to develop their digital skills, the participants also discuss how to benchmark the student experience, support staff and students to build their digital capability, and how policies and practices have advanced over recent years.
