New podcast series on Design Thinking

02 Feb 2022 | Advance HE “What is design thinking and why is it important? Why should anyone care and what are some of the benefits to higher education?” Dr Bo Kelestyn from the University of Warwick introduces a new podcast series ahead of Design Thinking: Approaches to Student Engagement - a virtual event on 9 March 2022.

Dr Bo Kelestyn is a Senior Fellow and Director of Student Experience in the Department of Chemistry at the University of Warwick. In this new podcast series, she explores the topic of design thinking with some special guests. Through each episode, she will peel the layers of design thinking and what it has to offer to the higher education community. 

The series consists of six episodes, including this introductory episode, with guest interviews from people who've done different things, in different stages of their career and occupying different spaces within HE. 

In this introductory episode, Dr Kelestyn talks about the overall series and shares what has been done at Warwick over the last six years and how the University has been leveraging design thinking for student engagement and student voice. 

In episode two Dr Kelestyn speaks with Luke Netherclift, a Warwick graduate, former work innovation fellow, Warwick Secret Challenge facilitator and trainer, entrepreneur and co-founder of Let's Level Up, an education startup focused on building the next generation of skilled professionals.

In episode three Dr Kelestyn speaks with Anish Bagga, the founder of Unitu, an award-winning online platform that helps universities and student unions to collect and analyse student feedback in real time.

In episode four, Dr Kelestyn and Dave Thomas, Senior Advisor at Advance HE explore the connection between design thinking, leadership and inclusivity, and the ways in which we need to go about building truly inclusive cultures and learning communities.
