Advance HE unequivocally condemns the unprovoked and aggressive invasion of Ukraine by the Russian Government. We express our total support for the universities, staff, students and people of Ukraine in these difficult and deeply troubling times.
We work closely with colleagues from across Ukraine – the higher education ministry, the British Council, the Ukraine Institute of HE, NAQA and many academics throughout the country. Until recently this included a project supporting Universities in Ukraine that had been displaced, focused on the consequences of the 2014 conflict. While we have been forced to temporarily suspend activities we are committed to restarting them as soon as is practical and safe to do so.
Advance HE supports the development of HE across the world, by bringing people together to learn together. As we continue to look at how we can work as a sector to reinforce our support for Ukraine, our thoughts are with those unjustly caught up in the war, for their safety and for a swift end to this unjustified escalation and a return to peace.
