Her NTFS award resulted in the book Understanding Supervision and the PhD (2011, Continuum Press/Bloomsbury). Her later education work focused on training and development for doctoral supervisors and writing in higher education, especially for doctoral students and staff writing for publication. As a researcher, Moira's focus has always been on power and marginality, leading to work as a criminologist as well as research in education and health. Publications include: Peelo, M. & Soothill, K.
