Alastair has over 30 years’ experience of working across the public sector. This includes leadership roles in the NHS in Scotland and the Scottish Government, where he led on national programmes of work on patient information, patient experience and patient’s rights.
Alastair joined the EHRC as a member of the Scotland Committee from 2007 – 2012 when he took up post as the Scotland Director. In 2016 he became an Executive Director leading the Programmes and Scotland functions. In 2019 Alastair took over the Legal, Enforcement and Compliance functions as well as maintaining responsibility for our operations in Scotland.
When not at work (and when the guidelines allow) he is to be found running around the hills of Scotland.
