Director of Student Welfare and Support Services , University of Oxford
After a portfolio career working in publishing, web design and even the Prison Service, Gillian has worked in student services for the past 14 years. This has included various roles at the University of Oxford and its Colleges, including Director of Student Welfare and Support Services.
As Deputy Academic Registrar she is responsible for educational policy, quality assurance, student casework and co-ordinating several University committees. She oversees the University’s Access and Participation Plan and other activities which aim to increase diversity in the student body and the curriculum. She is an experienced member of College and University EDI groups and committees, and has been a supporter of Athena SWAN for many years. Gillian is also a part-time PhD student in Classics at the University of Oxford.
