An MBA graduate, Kim combines strategic insight with a sound understanding of operational excellence. She has worked across higher and professional education providing support to both senior leadership teams and Boards, to facilitate strategic planning and performance improvement. Kim’s work at Advance HE focusses predominantly on reviewing and helping shape organisations’ future direction, stakeholder engagement, and embedding new practices. Kim is a co-opted governor at the University of West London, Workforce Committee.

Recent work with HEI’s includes leading Advance HE’s work on ‘Let’s Talk Value’ which included a project with ten universities, to explore how universities create, articulate and sustain value. Integrated Thinking and Reporting (IT&R) considers a principles based framework to think, plan and report more holistically and focusses on principles of engagement with stakeholders and breaking down silos regarding strategic planning and communication. The work has provision of information to the Board at the heart of its purpose.

In former roles Kim was responsible for delivering a project on enterprise governance and the strategic scorecard for effective Board oversight at the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants, and for managing a CPD implementation project for the Board of the Association of Corporate Treasurers. She has also worked for the International Integrated Reporting Council which is a leading mission group to improve Corporate Reporting globally.

Recent examples of Kim’s work in HE include:

  • Governance effectiveness reviews in 2018/19 at Queen Mary’s University of London, University Essex, University of Salford, DMU, University of Wolverhampton and Greenwich University.
  • A Governor/Executive away day facilitation for the London Film School in 2018 and Plymouth Marjon University in 2019.
  • In 2018/19 culture reviews at a School of Cambridge University, the University of Leicester and Portsmouth University.  A development programme with Roehampton University to improve leadership, connectivity and communications cross directorates and faculties and an impact evaluation project at Nottingham University in 2017.
