Sarah joined Advance HE in 2020 to support the development and delivery of the Athena SWAN Charter in Ireland. She has expertise in supporting sector-wide and institutional progress on gender equality.
As National Adviser, Sarah updates Charter resources in response to sector changes, good practice developments and external policy context. She provides specialist knowledge and advice to Athena SWAN applicants, develops training and workshops, and facilitates peer-review assessment panels. She works with Irish higher education institutions and relevant external agencies, including the Higher Education Authority, to provide guidance on issues and queries relating to Athena SWAN.
Sarah has previously worked in the higher education and research sectors in Ireland and the UK. She has experience leading on EDI data collection and consultation, developing gender equality action plans, and assessing impact.
