Celia joined Advance HE (formerly the HEA) in April 2012 from the North West Universities Association (NWUA) where she was Director (Skills). At NWUA she was the strategic lead for all skills and employer engagement activity for nine years with much of her work focusing around higher-level skills, widening participation and learning and teaching, with a particular focus on work-based and flexible learning.
Celia’s current role at Advance HE is Assistant Director (Conferences and Events) leading a team of staff to deliver a wide and diverse range of programmes and events. During her time with Advance HE (formerly the HEA) she has been Head of Services, with responsibility for delivering all HE services including training, events, UK and international consultancy, accreditation, recognition, excellence awards and subscriber benefits. The current team focuses on delivering high quality experiences across the sector for everyone engaging with the portfolio of Advance HE programmes and events building on the links created through our global memberships team and utilising the knowledge and expertise of the Knowledge, Innovation and Delivery (KID) Directorate as appropriate to support the activities. Celia is a member of the senior management group at Advance HE.
