Dr Edd Pitt

Over the past 17 years, Dr Pitt, Senior Lecturer at the Centre for the Study of Higher Education at the University of Kent, has established himself as a scholar within the field of higher education research. Principally his research spans assessment and feedback.

Edd has published books, book chapters and journal articles (n>28) on assessment criteria, academic writing, emotions in feedback, student achievement, disciplinary feedback practices and technology enhanced feedback. He has received funding from Advance HE, SEDA, EARLI, National Forum for the Enhancement of Teaching and Learning in Higher Education Ireland and the British Academy and his own university.

He is an Honorary Senior Research Fellow at The Centre for Research in Assessment and Digital Learning (CRADLE) at Deakin University, Melbourne, Australia. He has guest-edited two special issues in leading assessment and feedback journals (Assessment in Education: Principles, Policy and Practice and Assessment and Evaluation in Higher Education).

To May 2022, he has given more than 36 invited talks, including 7 keynotes, all related to assessment and feedback in higher education.
