Liz’s career in education has spanned 25 years. She currently offers consultancy for higher education in a range of areas including strategic change, learning and teaching enhancement, governance and quality assurance, educational research and policy evaluation. She is a Principal Fellow of the Higher Education Academy and holds visiting professorships at the University of the West of England, Buckinghamshire New University, Solent University and Westminster University.

Liz's early academic career was spent researching and teaching in the discipline of sociology. In 2001, she moved into policy evaluation and research, and led a range of small and large-scale government-funded projects at the National Foundation for Educational Research (NFER). Since 2011 Liz has worked in learning and teaching leadership roles including Director of Curriculum Development and Teaching Enhancement (University of Hull), University Director of Learning and Teaching (UWE, Bristol) and Pro-vice Chancellor Education and Digital (Buckinghamshire New University).
