Since 2018 Julie has been mentor on a national pilot project in FE – Leading from the Middle – where she has successfully mentored over 200 middle managers through a leadership programme. She has also been a coach on the ETF’s Strategic Innovation for Skills programme for Senior Managers and has run coaching workshops for alumni. Whilst the education sector is an area of expertise she also works with leaders in other sectors too. Clients include the Operations Director of a Manufacturing Company; the People and Culture Director for a company in the financial services sector and the Deputy CEO of a charity.
She is an ESCI facilitator, able to offer 360 degree emotional intelligence analysis and also brings into coaching a deep understanding of business planning and development, change management, culture change, and project management. She is a qualified PRINCE2 Practitioner; has developed business cases (SOCs/OBCs and FBCs) to inform estates planning, capital build projects and new partnership options; supported organisations to explore options for new operating models including merger; used LEAN analysis to improve internal processes and procedures and identify more efficient ways of working; and led on communications and stakeholder management on large projects.
Julie is committed to using coaching to enable individuals to become more effective leaders and improve both their own performance and that of their organisation. Her approach is based on the view that:
“Coaching is the facilitation of learning and development with the purpose of improving performance and enhancing effective action, goal achievement, personal satisfaction and fulfilment of potential. It invariably involves growth and change, whether that be in perspective, attitude or behaviour” (Bluckert 2006).
