He is chair of the Academic Network on Global Education and Learning (ANGEL). He has advised UK governments in the past on areas such as sustainable development education and global citizenship. He chairs a Forum on Education for Sustainability within IOE at UCL and is a member of the university’s education for sustainable development steering group. Professor Bourn has also produced publications and given presentations to bodies such as UNESCO, OECD, British Council, a range of universities in China, Japan, South Korea and UAE. Later this year he will have an edited volume published on Pedagogy of Hope for Global Social Justice for Bloomsbury with Professor Massimiliano Tarozzi.
